Established in October 2017, Government Girls Degree College No. 3, Dera Ismail Khan, is a relatively new institution dedicated to providing quality education. The building was previously owned by FEF Girls College. After becoming defunct for a significant period of time, it was handed over to HED in 2017, making Ms Shehla Ambreen the pioneering principal being faced with the daunting task of  overcoming numerous challenges and obstacles such as relatively small campus with hardly 12 classrooms, and a merely 120-seat hall. Since then, college has progressed in leaps and bounds. Starting with Intermediate and Bachelor programs in 2018, the college successfully graduated its first BA/BSc batch in 2020, witnessing a remarkable surge in enrollment to approximately 900 students. Subsequent to the HECs decision of termination of BA/BSc Programs, GGDC3DIK embraced the change and put a significant endeavour by introducing 6 AD Departments in 2020, later transitioning to 4 BS departments in 2023, solidifying its commitment to promoting female education in the region. With a vision to foster academic excellence, artistic creation, and knowledge sharing, the college aims to produce well-rounded, cultured, and honest professionals, making it a beacon of quality education in the DIK-Tank cluster, it currently runs 4 BS Departments and Intermediate classes despite numerous challenges and limited resources.
